The American Academy of Pediatrics released a list of age-specific resolutions, for kids from preschoolers to teens, that you can encourage them to try.

    • Preschoolers: Suggest simple habit-forming resolutions like being nice to the other kids at school, helping clean up toys, and washing their hands after using the restroom.
    • Children between the ages of 5 and 12: These resolutions can start some healthy habits like drinking enough water and being active to practicing safe online habits.
    • Teenagers: Resolutions can cover anything from eating more fruit and vegetables to avoiding drugs and alcohol. Managing stress and staying organized is a great resolution for teens going into high school. Volunteering is a perfect resolution to teach your teen to give back and spend time with family!

It’s great to start these conversations with your children at the beginning of the year, even when they are very young. Go over goals and what they would like to accomplish during the year, then help them reach their goals. This will act as a big motivator throughout the year. Resolutions introduces kids to the idea that they can create their own wellness!
