    Make Women's Health a Part of Mother's Day 

    Look for ways to lead a healthy, happier life. Start by visiting your doctor and getting appropriate regular screenings for your age and circumstances and find ways to become more physically active.  

    Physical and Mental Benefits of Exercise

    • Get a friend and go for a walk and try to do this on most days of the week or just find an activity that you enjoy doing that gets you off the couch and gets you moving.  
    • Shoot for 30 minutes of moderately intense exercise on most days of the week, and if you are nowhere near that right now, then slowly build your way up to that.  
    • Fill your diet full of good nutrition. Everyone know that a handful of chips is much different than an apple, and it may have the same caloric value.  So fill your diet full of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, low-fat dairy, and lots of protein, and do what you can to limit processed foods and sweets. 

    Focus on Mental Health by Managing Stress

    First of all, set priorities.  It might help you if you make a daily task list and that will help you to accomplish your priorities.  Among your priorities should be setting aside time for yourself and schedule it if you have to.  Get babysitters for your kids so that you can have time for yourself.  Do what you can to get enough sleep.  Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help or to say no when you’re feeling overwhelmed and stressed because none of us can do it all.
