Say No to Sugary Soda

It's football season, and along with the fantastic receptions and bone-jarring tackles that I’ve come to expect, there are occasions when that most desperate of all plays, the “Hail Mary pass,” is used.  You know this play.  Usually near the end of the game, and with the slimmest chance of success, the quarterback heaves the football toward the end zone, hoping that one of his teammates will catch it and win the game, a physical manifestation of a miracle.  It is a last ditch effort, plain and simple.

I was reminded of this play when I read that a major soda manufacturer (I’m not about to give them any free publicity by mentioning their name) was bankrolling an organization dedicated to the proposition that the obesity crisis is primarily about inactivity, and not about how much we eat and drink.
