We’ve all been there — it's 3 o’clock on any given afternoon. Lunch was hours ago. Things slow down and your body says, “Hey, can’t we eat something? I need a pick-me-up. I can’t make it till dinner.” This happens so regularly, my office has coined the term “treat-o’clock.”

But this kind of lackadaisical hunger is different from the growing concern of food insecurity. That's the hunger we refer to when we say one in five children in the state of Utah doesn't know where their next meal will come from, or one in six Utah households face constant, gnawing hunger.
