But, the Standard American Diet (SAD) typically consists of protein and carbs, which naturally excludes fruits and vegetables from our dinner plates. A great way to focus on including more fruits and vegetables into our day to day lives is by considering the Mediterranean Diet. The Mediterranean Diet can help us improve our diets as it primarily consists of plant-based foods such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes.
