In addition to eating healthy, you can find more ways to have a heart-healthy lifestyle at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute's FREE Family Heart Fair on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 9 to 1 p.m.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 large sweet potatoes (not yams)
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tsp seasoning mix, like Mrs. Dash
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 tsp cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
- Rinse and peel the sweet potatoes and cut into 'fries'
- Mix all of the ingredients into a large bowl and coat the fries evenly
- spread in a single layer onto a baking sheet
- Bake at 425º F for about 15 minutes
- Turn fries with a spatula and bake 10-15 minutes longer to desired crispness
- Serve hot.
