At Dixie Regional Medical Center, we fully support breastfeeding as the “Gold Standard” for providing infant nutrition. The Caring for Yourself and Your Baby/Breastfeeding class covers the routine hospital tests and procedures for your newborn, normal appearance and behaviors, and how to care for your baby at home. Learn how to have a positive experience with your newborn and get breastfeeding off to a great start.

The class covers what to expect in the early postpartum period as well as an introduction to breastfeeding and is recommended in 2nd or 3rd trimester.

This is a comprehensive class describing how to care for yourself in the postpartum period as well as how to care for your newborn. Topics include:

Mom:  Bleeding, after pains (cramping), soreness, infection prevention, hemorrhoids/ constipation, breast care, physical activity
