The purpose of the SelectHealth post-graduate program gives residents the opportunity to exercise leadership and practice management skills. SelectHealth accepts one resident per year.

Program Overview and Assignments

The Pharmacy Department manages the health plan’s pharmacy affairs and works closely with physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, and clinics to make drug policy decisions. Residents learn how to:

  • Manage the drug distribution process
  • Design and implement effective clinical programs
  • Ensure the safety and quality of the medication-use system
  • Provide medication and practice-related education and training
  • Design effective benefit structures
  • Conduct outcomes-based research

The SelectHealth resident completes two longitudinal projects in topics of their choice. Past research projects include:

  • Analysis of HCV outcomes with protease inhibitors
  • Impact of high-deductible health plans on outcomes
  • Analysis of ACA changes to contraceptive coverage to the health-plan
  • Suboxone utilization trends
