About our program

The PGY2 cardiology at Intermountain Medical Center provides training in all facets of cardiology care from outpatient clinics to acute care cardiology and various cardiac intensive care units. The resident will also have the opportunity to rotate at two of our system hospitals to get additional experience in other practice settings including pediatrics. Residents are exposed to transplant, mechanical circulatory support, interventional cardiology and many other specialized areas of cardiology. The focus of our program is to develop residents into highly skilled pharmacists, fully integrated within the interdisciplinary cardiology team.

The residency program provides an ideal environment to improve clinical knowledge and practice evidence-based medicine, interact in a multidisciplinary team, improve communication and ability to manage complex patients. Residents will get vast experience in research, quality improvement, teaching, precepting and presenting in various formats. Graduates of this residency program will possess the skills necessary to be highly competitive for career opportunities in any cardiology setting.
