Michele M Lower MSN named executive nurse director

Michele M. Lower, MSN, has been named executive nurse director for Intermountain Medical Group - Utah after a robust selection process which included both internal and external candidates. Most recently, Michele has been leading as the integrated care management director for ambulatory and community care at Castell, an Intermountain Healthcare company.

"We are excited to welcome Michele back to the Intermountain Medical Group - Utah and look forward to the partnerships we will foster and strengthen as we work towards increasing the role of our licensed nurses in service to our patients and as key members in our team-based care delivery model," says Diane Rindlisbacher, chief nursing officer for Community-Based Care.  

 

Michele was part of the leadership team that implemented NCQA Primary Care Medical Home and the Care Management model in the Medical Group. She also contributed her leadership to the implementation of iCentra in ambulatory clinics across the system, both in Medical Group and hospital-based clinics. In 2021, Michele was also responsible for helping ambulatory care management teams attain a three-year NCQA care management accreditation in less than 12 months with a score of 99.6/100. She has served in various roles at Intermountain for more than 30 years. 

 

Michele joined Intermountain in 1990 as a health unit coordinator (HUC) in the ED at McKay-Dee Hospital. After graduating with an Associate of Science in Nursing from Weber State University, she focused her career on pediatrics and NICU care specifically. Her first role in the Medical Group was as an RN at the Layton InstaCare. Michele earned both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. 

 

Michele will begin her new role on May 1. She enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time in the outdoors camping and fishing.
