Tayler McElyea holds a basket of donations for a young family in need while Taylor’s daughter, Stilez, is held by April Yeomans.
A recent rollover car accident severely injured a young mother from another state, and she had to stay at Cedar City Hospital for weeks. Her husband and one-and-a-half-month-old baby, who were both in the crash with her, stayed at the Ellsworth Jubilee Home guest house throughout mom’s recovery.
Environmental services (EVS) technician Tayler McElyea got to know the patient as she helped take care of her room. Tayler is also a mother of a young child and she realized this mother and father didn’t have very many items needed for their baby during their extended stay.
Taylor reached out to the Cedar City EVS team and asked if they’d be willing to chip in some donations to help. The whole team came together to provide a large basket full of clothes, blankets, toys, and other baby essentials.
“Our EVS team members are among the hardest working caregivers there are, and they’re the best people,” says Tayler’s manager, April Yeomans. “It’s not as easy for some to donate as they don’t have very much to begin with, but they give their whole hearts and all they can. It makes their donation even more significant and special.”
The young family were so appreciative of the kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity of these amazing caregivers.
