Intermountain’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) team has added a new Compassion Awareness Resilience Education (CARE) session to their schedule. The new session, offered Mondays at noon MT, will focus specifically on helping you learn how to cope with grief and loss. Topics will vary from emotions related to grief, how to grieve, how grief affects us in today’s culture, how to have difficult conversations about grief, and much more.

“I believe everyone should learn about how to recognize and understand grief, because we all experience loss at some point in our lives,” says Orley Bills, EAP program consultant.

Here’s how to participate in a CARE session:

  • You can virtually join a scheduled session, as needed, no registration is required.
  • Sessions are confidential, voluntary, and open to all caregivers.
  • The 15-minute sessions are designed to fit your busy schedule.
  • You can download the recurring calendar appointment for CARE sessions so you always know when to join.
  • This new CARE session will happen Mondays at noon. While this session will focus specifically on grief and loss, other CARE sessions are designed to provide practical, self-care skills, and tips that can be utilized at work or home. There are also mindfulness specific CARE sessions offered.
  • CARE sessions are only offered to caregivers in the Canyons and Desert regions at this time.
