Notable reaches first anniversary with Intermountain

Sick person checking in sized for Sitecore
Intermountain's Notable software allows patients to start the check-in process before they even arrive.

Notable is an application Intermountain uses to help gather information digitally from patients before their visit, such as pre-registration and forms. The application adds collected information into the patient’s chart.

Intermountain Medical Group—Utah rolled out Notable across clinics and specialties over the last year and continues to enhance registration processes. Some things we’ve seen using Notable:

  • 77% of clinic patients have utilized the online check-in experience.
  • 98% of patients have had a positive experience with the service.
  • More than 2 million appointments have used the pre-visit check-in experience.
  • The process saves patients between two and 10 minutes at check-in.
  • The process also saves time for caregivers.

The Pediatric Service Line shared recent feedback that Notable has given caregivers more time to do other things in the clinic, like addressing patient needs, focusing on safety and experience techniques, and ordering supplies and stocking rooms. In one clinic time study, pre-Notable work required approximately 18-19 total minutes per patient, and with Notable that time reduced to 8-9 minutes. That’s an overall savings of about 10 minutes per patient.

To realize Notable’s complete potential to support your workflows and to enhance patient experience, remember to:

  1. Read the Notable historical comments and appropriately act on those comments.
  2. Focus on the pieces of registration that haven’t already been completed by Notable.
  3. Only request paper forms that haven’t already been completed by Notable.
  4. Work with your managers when patients feel parts of registration are redundant.
