This is an advanced course to prepare the student to handle an adult cardio/pulmonary arrest.  The student should have a basic knowledge of cardiac and respiratory pathophysiology, including basic ECG rhythms and pharmacology.  It is designed to teach providers the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult cardiac arrest. Students are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases Audience: Emergency, or critical care personnel; such as physicians, nurses, EMTs, paramedics, respiratory therapists or cardiology techs; and other professionals who may need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency. The ACLS exam includes several questions that require identification of ECG rhythms. Rhythms recognition is not taught in the ACLS curriculum. Therefore, we strongly recommend the “Basic ECG Rhythm Interpretation” class be taken prior to ACLS. The ACLS packet will be emailed to participants prior to class. Packets are available in the Education Center.  The ECC handbook is not required but is recommended for the course (includes info for ACLS, BLS, PALS and NRP).  Participants must complete the pre-tests and review the packet prior to the first day of the course.    MUST BE BLS certified PRIOR to taking the course. For additional information please contact the Education Center (435) 716-5310

Class size is limited.  PRE-REGISTRATION and PAYMENT required prior to class.

This is a 2 day course.  Both days need to be completed to become ACLS certified

Second day: March 21, 2014 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
