Bio

I am a physical therapist who has been practicing for almost 8 years and specialize in sports rehabilitation, specifically the evaluation and treatment of runners. I ran cross country and track and field at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) from 2008-2012 specializing in the 800m and now continue to train and compete in marathons. During my time at GVSU, I earned my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and, after graduating, became the strength and conditioning coach for GVSU's track and cross country programs for four years. During this time they won three NCAA Division II national championships between cross country and track and field. In addition to running I enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, and spending time outdoors. In graduate school, I performed my doctoral research using the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) as a way to predict injuries in collegiate runners over the course of a three sport season. After graduate school, I became certified in running evaluation through the use of 2D slow motion video gait analysis. I love working with runners and athletes of all levels from beginners to elite. In addition to endurance athletes, I have vast experience working with power, speed, and agility based athletes of all levels. I am one of the healthcare professionals assigned to care for Run Elite Program (REP), Utah's only professional running team comprised of Olympians, national champions, and many of the world's fastest distance and middle distance runners. Originally from Michigan, I moved to Utah four years ago with my wife Ali to embrace the mountains and all that they have to offer. I love all sports, (watching and playing), and love staying active and helping others so the same!
