Practice Focus

Dr. Hancey has developed a practice where his patient's health is given the highest priority. It is important that his patients have an excellent experience. This is ensured by taking time to fully explain the process and answer all of his patient's questions. His expertise is Abdomen and Breast surgery. He personally spends the time with each patient necessary to envision their goals and offer his professional opinion. He is known for following up personally with patients, and discussing with patients the minute details about their procedure.

Dr. Hancey received additional training in skin oncology while at Penn State, learning advanced techniques in melanoma surgery including sentinel lymph node biopsy. Dr. Hancey has published numerous papers and presented at national and international conferences on topics such as skin cancer, wound healing, and congenital malformations.

Personal Bio & Interests

Dr. Hancey is vice-chair of the Intermountain Medical Group (a physician group of more than 1100 physicians). He has served as chief of the division of plastic surgery at Riverton Hospital, and has an active plastic surgery practice at Alta View Plastic Surgery Specialists in Sandy, Utah.

Dr. Hancey appreciates the breadth and variety of plastic surgery. It is clear that being a physician and surgeon is more than a job to him, he loves what he does.

Married to an amazing woman and blessed with two beautiful and talented daughters, his family calls Draper home. They love living in the Salt Lake Valley where they can mountain bike or hike in the summer and enjoy the snow all winter.
