About Kyle M. Smith
Mental Health Integration (MHI) is an approach at Intermountain Healthcare that treats the whole person within primary care. Mental health services are guided and provided for by your established Primary Care Physician and supported by MHI professionals working within the same clinic. The clinic team communicates with each other to make sure you’re getting the care you need. If your treatment plan indicates that it would be beneficial for you to participate in psychotherapy and/or psychiatric medication management with the MHI provider assigned to your primary care clinic, your Primary Care Provider can place a referral to initiate that service.
Dr. Smith is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist at The Children's Center Utah. With a residency training background in general pediatrics in addition to psychiatry, he is experienced in the assessment of early childhood development and has an interest in improving collaboration between primary care and behavioral health providers. Dr. Smith provides psychiatric medication management support for children enrolled in therapeutic services at The Children's Center Utah, and he additionally serves as a consultant for the Utah Psychotropic Oversight Program (UPOP). As an adjunct professor with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Utah, Dr. Smith also is a clinical supervisor for psychiatry residents and fellows rotating with The Children's Center Utah.
