PURPOSE:
Interprofessional Continuing Education at Intermountain Health assesses, facilitates, enhances, and advocates for the continuous learning process with the ultimate goal of improving healthcare outcomes. This is accomplished by identifying the educational needs of our community and regional healthcare teams and developing balanced, scientifically rigorous educational activities to bridge gaps in knowledge, skill or practice. The Interprofessional Continuing Education program is committed to excellence and accountability in education being recognized as the leader for continuing education for the Intermountain Region.

EXPECTED RESULTS:
Through participation in our educational offerings, participants will improve their knowledge, skills, and/or performance, leading to improved professional practice and/or patient outcomes.

Western Colorado Neurosciences Symposium

This conference provides an update on important topics in neurosciences, and addresses clinical competencies of knowledge, performance, and improving patient outcomes.

10th Annual Excellence in Trauma Care Conference

Excellence in Trauma Care Conference is a 2 day conference focused on the assessment and management of patients with traumatic injuries. This conference is for all licensed professionals in the area of trauma.

2023 Pediatric Asthma Update

The Pediatric Asthma Update is dissemination of the updated pediatric asthma care process model (CMP) based on the 2020 NHLBI guidelines. It is an overview of interprofessional roles/responsibilities for asthma care with education, medication management, avoidance of triggers and asthma control.

Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Core Curriculum Review Course - 2023

Sixty-five lectures, accompanied by visuals are reviewed, followed by test questions. An interactive system provides immediate assessment, allowing participants to focus on areas to improve and a comprehensive review of core information required to prepare for the competency written exam.

Lactation Management Conference

This Conference is designed to enable the learner to evaluate and treat breastfeeding problems that are commonly seen in the early breastfeeding experience.

6th Annual Update in Diabetes and Endocrinology

This conference will focus on updates in the care of patients with diabetes and common endocrine conditions.

3rd Annual Advanced Fetal Heart Rate Interpretation Conference

This conference will discuss fetal heart rate variability including: pathophysiology of variability; extreme abnormalities of variability; variability in the Category II Fetal Heart Tracing Algorithm; and case presentations.

Enduring Materials

Utah Medical Cannabis 2022 Update - Initial Training

This activity is intended for prescribers, pharmacists, legal counsel and other allied health professionals who have an interest in the Utah Medical Cannabis Law and how it will impact them. This activity will fulfill the education requirement to be registered in the State of Utah as a qualified medical provider. To become a Medical Cannabis Qualified Medical Provider, the State of Utah requires the prescriber complete all 4 hours of education and complete a post-test with a score of 75% or better.
