What's Going Around Utah

Disease activity update for Monday, March 25th, 2019

Measles: From January 1 to March 21, 2019, 314** individual cases of measles have been confirmed in 15 states. The states that have reported cases to CDC are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. Many of Utah's counties are at high risk for Measles outbreaks due to vaccination rates dipping dangerously low. Now is a really good time to make sure your children are adequately vaccinated against Measles and to discuss the benefits of vaccinating them with your healthcare provider if they are not.

A good source for parents and patients to learn more about Measles is this CDC page.
