We offer many classes including FEMA courses and National Disaster Life Support Foundation’s BDLS and ADLS. We also do a Lunch and Learn series providing boxed lunch and an opportunity to hear encapsulated presentations on current topics such as critical incident stress management, BioEthics, working with the hearing impaired population during a disaster, and how to talk to your children about disasters. We are developing two new courses that will be presented in 2016: Disaster Essentials for Healthcare Leadership and Incident Command for Healthcare.
A complete list of upcoming classes can be found on the Intermountain Center for Disaster Preparedness Facebook page under the events tab. Thanks to our partners, Intermountain Healthcare, Utah Department of Health, Salt Lake, Summit and Tooele Coalition, many of our classes are offered at minimal or no charge. Registration for most courses is through Utrain.
In addition to classes and course offerings, we provide assistance with the development and execution of drills and exercises to enhance the skills necessary to cope with a disaster or emergency, before, during and after.
Our staff can help evaluate your organization’s emergency plans to identify gaps and vulnerabilities.
