The Heart Failure Prevention and Treatment Program

Have you or someone you love experienced heart disease or heart failure?

The Heart Failure Prevention and Treatment Program offers a support group to heart failure patients and their families in our community. Come and meet people who have had similar experiences. Gain emotional and social support from patients and families who face the challenge of heart disease.

Heart failure — a progressive condition in which the heart muscle weakens and gradually loses its ability to pump enough blood to supply the body’s needs — is frighteningly common, but under recognized. Often patients and their families and loved ones feel alone in their struggles, yet heart failure affects nearly 5 million Americans. Many people live happy and productive lives beyond heart disease. Join us in sharing stories and learning from each other’s experiences and coping strategies.

As a support group, we will be occasionally inviting experts to talk briefly about subjects that the members would like to discuss, but most of the group time will be spent in open, supportive discussion among members.

The support group will be held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. until noon at Intermountain Medical Center in the Pepperwood conference room, LL1 Sorenson Lung & Heart building across from the Heart Failure Prevention Clinic. Ask staff for directions.
