Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Gold Quality Achievement Award​


For the second year in a row, Logan Regional Hospital has been recognized with the Get With The Guidelines®–Heart Failure Gold Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association for 2013.

The recognition means Logan Regional has achieved at least two years of 85 percent or higher adherence to the guidelines of care recommended by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology.
Truven Health Analytics 100 Top Hospitals​ ​

Logan Regional Hospital was named as one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® for 2013 by Truven Health Analytics, formerly Thomson Reuters. The designation means Logan Regional excels in providing quality healthcare at a reasonable cost, having safeguards in place to protect patients from medical errors, and providing medical treatments proven to get results. Truven Health Analytics, a nationally respected benchmarking company, conducts the annual Top 100 Hospitals study using objective research and independent public data to evaluate a hospital’s performance in quality of care, level of service, and value for the patient. They award the hospitals that receive the highest national scores in those are​as.

iVantage Health Analytics® 2013 HealthStrong™ Top 100 Hospitals






Logan Regional was named a 2013 HealthStrong™ Top 100 Hospitals. U.S. hospitals receiving this designation scored best hospitals on the iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index™. The Hospital Strength Index is the industry’s most comprehensive rating of hospitals and the results recognize the Top 100 hospitals – measuring them across 56 different performance metrics, including quality, outcomes, patient perspective, affordability and efficiency.

​ ​Becker's 100 Great Community Hospitals




​Becker's Hospital Review named Logan Regional Hospital among the "100 Great Community Hospitals," a list based on hospitals' quality of care and service to community. The hospitals listed have fewer than 550 beds and are often located in rural areas as the only hospitals in their communities. Whether independent or part of a larger health system, the Becker’s 100 Great Community Hospitals​ have worked with limited resources to continually provide the quality of care and the experience patients expect.

Breast Imaging Center of Excellence​​ ​






​The American College of Radiology (ACR) recognized the Women’s Imaging and Mammography Center at Logan Regional Hospital as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. Healthcare centers earn this designation by meeting the ACR’s high standards in image quality, staff experience and level of education, and patient safety measures. Logan Regional is the only facility in Cache Valley to hold this designation. “This prestigious designation assures our patients, and the community, that Logan Regional Hospital is a facility with the highest level of imaging quality and safety,” said Logan Regional’s Medical Director of Mammography Blake C. Mortenson, M.D. “It represents a combined effort of our highly skilled team of professionals. I am proud to acknowledge their dedication and ongoing efforts toward excellence.” The center includes six radiologists, six mammographers, ultrasonographers and two breast-care coordinators, each with extensive experience in the diagnosis of breast cancer, routine screenings, and complex diagnostic and biopsy procedures.​

Cleverly & Associates "Community Value 100 Five-Star Hospital​​ ​



Hospital and healthcare consulting organization, Cleverly & Associates, recognized Logan Regional Hospital, along with eight other Intermountain hospitals with its “Community Value Index Five-Star Hospital” designation for the value they provide to the communities they serve. The designation recognizes the value a facility provides to the community by measuring financial viability, facility reinvestments, maintenance of a low cost structure and high quality patient care at reasonable prices. Nationwide, the group of hospitals that scored in the top 20 percentile among these performance areas received the Five-Star designation. The Intermountain hospitals honored were: Alta View, American Fork, Dixie Regional, LDS, Logan Regional, McKay-Dee, Sevier Valley, Utah Valley, and Valley View. The only other Utah hospital to receive this recognition was Davis Hospital in Layton.

Gallup Great Workplace Award​ ​






Gallup Organization has again chosen Intermountain Healthcare as one of 32 companies world-wide, and the only organization in Utah, to earn the Gallup Great Workplace Award for 2013. The Gallup Great Workplace Award is based on overall engagement levels and evidence of a highly-engaged workforce’s impact on key business metrics. Gallup compares applicants’ results across its research database composed of millions of work teams in more than 100 countries. The award acknowledges the best-performing workforces in the world and the organizations’ ability to create an engaged culture.

Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Gold Quality Achievement Award


The American Heart Association has recognized Logan Regional Hospital with a prestigious national award — the Get With The Guidelines®–Heart Failure Gold Quality Achievement Award. The award means Logan Regional meets stringent standards for treating heart failure patients according to the guidelines of care recommended by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology. The quick and efficient use of guideline procedures can improve the quality of care for heart failure patients, save lives and ultimately reduce healthcare costs by lowering the recurrence of heart attacks.
​2013 Health Care's Most Wired Hospital​ ​

​Intermountain Healthcare has been named among the nation’s most technologically savvy hospital systems based on a study conducted by the American Hospital Association in 14 of the 15 years the survey has been conducted. The Most Wired assessments on hospitals and health systems nationwide were based on infrastructure, business and administrative management, clinical quality and safety, care continuum, and new areas such as big data analytics and patient generated data. Earlier this year, respondents completed 659 surveys, representing 1,713 hospitals, or roughly 30 percent of all U.S. hospitals. The AHA journal Hospitals & Health Networks published the results in its July issue. Intermountain has been developing and using computerized medical systems since the 1970s.
​ ​Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades


The Patient Safety Excellence Award recognizes hospitals that have the lowest occurrences of 14 preventable patient safety events. These hospitals are in the top 10% in the nation for patient safety.
​Tangent Medical 2013 Nurses' Choice Award​ ​

Donene Jones, RN, received the Tangent Medical 2013 Nurses’ Choice Award. The Nurses’ Choice Award honors nurses during National Nurses Week and recognizes those who demonstrate excellence in improving patient comfort, satisfaction, safety, and the overall quality of patient care. Twenty seven finalists were named in the United States and Canada, and from those finalists, only five winners were chosen to receive the award. Donene has 39 years of experience as a nurse and continues to be completely engaged and energetic in providing excellent clinical care along with her amazing focus on caring for patients. She represents the entire nursing community at Logan Regional very well and we are fortunate to have her among us.
Midas+ Platinum Quality Award​​ ​






Logan Regional Hospital has been recognized for outstanding clinical performance with the Midas+ Platinum Quality Award. The award recognizes the top performing hospitals that use Midas+ Solutions to collect and compile the quality, financial, and patient safety data the hospitals report to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Brian Child, Director of Quality and Patient Safety at Logan Regional Hospital, says the hospital has had success in implementing and advancing evidence-based care because the interdisciplinary team including administration, nursing leadership, and physicians have seen how it benefits our patients and they have come together to support and champion it.
HealthInsight Quality Award​​ ​

Logan Regional Hospital has achieved the performance necessary to receive the 2013 HealthInsight Quality Award. The HealthInsight Quality Award program was created in 2004 to recognize providers who achieve a high level of performance on publicly reported quality of care measures and to promote transparency in our healthcare system. Criteria for the 2013 award are designed to be fair, challenging, and possible for all hospitals to qualify. To receive an award, a hospital must rank at or above the 75th percentile in the HealthInsight national rankings based on quality of care and patient perception of care (HCAHPS) measures updated in July 2013. Clinical measures are weighted at 70% of the overall ranking and HCAHPS measures at 30%. These data are posted on Hospital Compare and reflect the performance period of October 1, 2011 – September 30, 2012.
​​Community Value 5-Star Top 100 Hospital ​







​Logan Regional Hospital was recognized with both the 2010 Community Value Top 100 and Five Star Hospital designations by Cleverly and Associates, an independent healthcare data and consulting services firm in Columbus, Ohio. Logan Regional was ranked in the top 20 out of more than 1,400 hospitals in its size category across the nation. This is the second year Logan Regional has earned this honor. The awards are based on Cleverly and Associates’ Community Value Index ranking, as reported in the 2010 State of the Hospital Industry report, which uses 10 measures in four areas to rank the performance of similar-sized hospitals throughout the United States. The four areas measured include:
  1. Financial strength and reinvestment back into the facility 
  2. Hospital cost structure 
  3. Hospital charge structure 
  4. Quality of care performance
A hospital’s combined performance in the four areas listed above is that facility’s Community Value Index score. Hospitals with scores in the top 20 percent are designated as Community Value Five-Star facilities. The Community Value 100 subset group are the highest scoring facilities in the country — the best 100 hospitals in the nation in terms of the value provided to their communities, according to Cleverly and Associates’ rankings.
The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval®

​Logan Regional Hospital was recognized with a Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission. The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation by demonstrating complaince with The Joint Commision's national standards for helath care quality and safety in hospitals.
