We specialize in providing a wide range of digestive health services, including colonoscopy, small bowel capsule imaging, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatogram (ERCP), and percutaneous endoscopic gastronomy (PEG) tube.
Most of our procedures are performed on Level 1 of the new Alta View Specialty Center on the north side of the hospital campus. We recommend you enter the campus from 9400 South just below 1300 East.
Have your insurance information available when you call. Please call your insurance in advance to check your benefits before calling to register.
In order to have a successful colonoscopy, you must carefully prepare your body. Please follow these instructions as you prepare for your exam (Specific laxative instructions are at the end of this page)
- The endoscopy staff will call you the day before of the procedure to let you know what time you should arrive. If you have not received the call by 1 p.m. on the day before your procedure, please give us a call at (801) 501-6488.
- A preregistration nurse will call you a few days before your procedure to obtain a general health history. It will take about 10 minutes. You may be asked to give a urine specimen if you are a female of childbearing age. We will be calling to pre-authorize your procedure if it is needed, however; It is up to you to check with your insurance to verify the level of coverage for the procedure, doctor and facility. We are only required to pre-authorize primary insurance only. If you have a secondary insurance it will be your responsibility to notify them.
- Finding us. When you come into the Alta View Specialty Center, the reception desk is to the left of the staircase and has a sign that says “Alta View North Surgical and Endoscopy Center.”
