Dr. Mark Wilkinson was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended the University of Utah where he graduated with a bachelors degree in Spanish. Afterwards, he attended medical school at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri. He received the peer-voted Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award, given to two students from each graduating class for clinical excellence, outstanding leadership and a dedication to serving others. He is an active member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons.
After medical school, he completed his residency in general surgery at UPMC Pinnacle in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. There he served as a chief resident. He completed the UPMC Pinnacle robotic surgery curriculum and is certified to perform general surgery cases on the da Vinci robotic platform.
He is certified to practice Open, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery.

In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, basketball, tennis and running distance road races. He especially enjoys spending time with his wife and five children and enjoying the outdoor recreation offered in Utah. Dr. Wilkinson is fluent in Spanish.
