Dr. Shinn was raised in Park City, Utah. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and completed medical school at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, Nevada. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah.
Dr. Shinn enjoys all aspects of women’s health and strives to help women live their best life possible. She sees women of all ages with gynecologic concerns and for obstetric care. She provides a wide range of services including preventive health screenings, prenatal care and delivery, contraception management, menopausal care, treatment for sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, incontinence, fertility, and miscarriage. She performs minimally invasive surgeries such as benign uterine and ovarian mass removal, hysterectomy, tubal ligations, ablations, and in-office procedures. Additionally, she performs limited osteopathic manipulation.
As an osteopathic physician, she strongly believes that the mind, body, and spirit are a single unit, and that treatment of one involves treatment of all three. She promotes patient education and shared decision making and strives to create an environment where women can feel comfortable and open about their individual needs. In her free time, you will find her outside in the mountains, spending time with her family, practicing yoga or gardening.
