In the past, people receiving treatment for chronic illnesses like cancer were told to rest. Recent studies have shown that exercise is not only safe during cancer treatment, but can actually improve physical function and quality of life, as well as shorten recovery times. Regular exercise can often help people feel better as they undergo treatment for cancer. Our cancer rehabilitation program is designed to help you maintain your strength and feel good during this difficult time.

Benefits of regular exercise during cancer treatment include:

  • Better balance (lower risk of falling)
  • Lower risk of heart disease
  • Maintains muscle strength and improve physical abilities
  • Reduces anxiety and depression
  • Reduces nausea and physical fatigue
  • Decreases risk of osteoporosis
  • Increased blood flow, lowering the risk of blood clots
  • Increased independence
  • Strengthened immune function
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Improved overall quality of life
