In the past, people receiving treatment for chronic illnesses like cancer were told to rest. Recent studies have shown that exercise is not only safe during cancer treatment, but can actually improve physical function and quality of life, as well as shorten recovery times. Regular exercise can often help people feel better as they undergo treatment for cancer. Our cancer rehabilitation program is designed to help you maintain your strength and feel good during this difficult time.
A physical therapist will meet with you to help you develop an exercise program based on your specific needs and abilities. We also offer speech-language pathology services to help those with speech or swallowing disorders, and treatment for Lymphedema. In addition, we offer dietary counseling to help you maintain a healthy diet and control your weight.
