What should you expect when you come to Heber Valley Hospital's hand therapy clinic?

We begin with a thorough evaluation of your hand, wrist, or elbow injury on the first visit to determine your limitations and needs. This often includes measuring your range of motion and strength, and assessing your pain. We teach you how to begin your road to recovery through a home exercise program. We discuss and set goals that you hope to achieve over the course of therapy, then we work towards accomplishing those goals through specialized therapy interventions. You can expect us to work closely with you and your physician to ensure the best outcomes possible.

Post-operative Care

Our therapists collaborate closely with hand surgeons to help you have the best possible recovery following surgery. Custom splint fabrication including fracture splinting is provided for patients. Each exercise program is customized to your individual needs and the protocols that your surgeon recommends.

Prevention Education

In addition to one-on-one sessions with our skilled hand therapists, our patients are given individualized instructions for home exercises specifically designed for their diagnosis and needs. A successful home program can dramatically improve your outcomes. To ensure success, we'll provide demonstrations, visual aids, and monitoring as appropriate
