Core to the work of the Center is understanding the perspective of our patients and family members who are treated in our intensive care units. One of the ways we do that is through a program called Patient and Family Advisors.
Patient and Family Advisors are patients or their family members who have been treated at Intermountain Medical Center within the past two years. These individuals serve as volunteers who are committed to providing feedback on the ICU experience. Our advisors share their stories and experiences, participate in group discussions about ways we can improve care and even participate on short-term projects, such as reviewing proposed educational materials. Advisors may even be asked to serve on an advisory council that meets on a regular basis to identify ways to enhance the patient and family experience in the ICU.
