“In 2014 our second child, Easton, was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, or half a heart. The function of the heart affects many things in the body and because of the rarity of his condition, he has to be treated by specialists at Primary Children’s Hospital. We currently see specialists in cardiology, gastroenterology, and pulmonology. It takes us at least 45 minutes one way to go to an appointment. For several months we were there at least once a week if not more, then it became a few times a month, and now we are there at least every other month. We are very excited about the new Primary Children’s clinic being built as part of the new Layton Hospital because it will give us more time in our life back! It will only take us about 15 minutes one way to get there, giving us more time with each other, less money spent on gas, and less wear on our van." - Rachelle Frederiksen
