The Cleft Lip and Palate Conference is designed to assist the clinician navigating the many unique challenges inherent in the management of children with cleft lip and palate anomalies. The conference will focus on current and new treatment modalities in the management of these children.

A comprehensive approach to management will be outlined including:  initial evaluation for feeding and hearing concerns; pre-surgical orthodontics; the important role of the Social Worker; sequences of surgeries involved in cleft lip and palate repair; cleft rhinoplasty; orthognatic surgery; speech and the management of velopharyngeal insufficiency, and audiological management of patients with cleft lip and palate.

The Carolyn Tanner Irish Humanities Building is located directly east (across the parking lot) of the University of Utah Union building. From 100 South/North Campus Drive turn south onto Central Campus Drive. Follow the road to the end and you will circle the parking lot and enter on the east side of the lot. This lot is the Union pay lot. For more information please visit


Parking is available to the west of the Carolyn Tanner Irish Humanities Building in the Union pay lot. Attendees will be given a “coupon code” to use at the parking kiosk to receive complimentary parking. Please be sure to note your license plate before going to the kiosk.

Registration fee for the conference includes a parking validation “coupon code” continental breakfast and lunch. All registration forms must be accompanied with the appropriate registration fees.

Please refrain from bringing infants or children. The conference is also not responsible for lost items.

Cancellation Policy: Refund for cancellation will be subject to a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be made after Friday, November 17, 2017. However, substitutions can be made at any time.
