Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) is an X-ray test that measures bone thickness. It is used to see if your bones are getting thin and brittle, which means they could break more easily. The results of the test may show that you need treatment for osteoporosis.
DEXA scans at Riverton are available on Tuesdays, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. in Suite 160B on the first floor of Riverton Hospital.
