Personal Bio & Interests

About The Provider - Mental Health Integration (MHI) is an approach at Intermountain Healthcare that treats the whole person within primary care. Mental health services are guided by your established Primary Care Physician and supported by MHI psychiatrists and psychologists working within the same clinic. Your MHI psychologist will see you short-term (up to 6 sessions) to clarify diagnosis and use evidence-based intervention to help you move towards your goals. If you end up needing a long-term counseling, MHI can help coordinate care until you are able to get into a long-term provider. Since this is a time-limited consultation model, MHI requires a referral from your primary care provider so that you can continue to get the care you need after you complete your visits with the MHI psychologist. You must have a primary care provider at one of the clinics where Dr. Spiel works to see him in his current role. If you do not have a primary care provider at one of these clinics (Southridge Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, South Jordan Family Medicine), please discuss other options with your PCP or call 833-442-2211 to get more information about Behavioral Health services available through Intermountain.Craig Spiel enjoyed living in California, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Michigan, and Texas growing up. He received his bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University and subsequently completed his Master's Degree and Doctorate at Ohio University. He currently works as part of the Mental Health Integration program at Intermountain, where he provides collaborative psychological care in multiple different primary care clinics in the Salt Lake City area.
