She treats musculoskeletal diseases (e.g., arthritis, muscle pain, back pain), neurologic injuries to peripheral nerves (e.g., carpal tunnel syndrome), pinched nerves in the spine, and brain or spinal cord injury to help patients experience the least amount of pain and restrictions as possible. She does this by a thorough exam with specific exercises and functional changes, medications, bracing, osteopathic manipulative medicine (similar to chiropractic or physical therapy). Dr. Vroenen also does electrodiagnostic testing which localizes pinched nerves from the back, arms or legs and gives specific information with regards to the amount of nerve damage to help guide further treatment. She also uses musculoskeletal ultrasound to help with diagnosis. Her focus is on getting a detailed diagnosis and maximizing conservative treatment whenever possible.
