Whether you're a first-time parent or a seasoned pro, having a new baby can bring questions. Prenatal classes can help answers those questions and bring peace of mind which will help you feel prepared for your precious addition.

At Utah Valley Hospital (formerly Utah Valley Regional Medical Center), we offer a number of different prenatal courses, allowing you to select those areas that are most important to you — though all are helpful. We offer two methods to take prenatal classes: online or at the hospital.

Who Should Take a Class?

Our childbirth classes are great for expectant mothers, fathers, birthing coaches, and moms who are struggling with breastfeeding, or other lactation concerns.

Online Childbirth Class

The Gift of Motherhood eLearning Childbirth Education Program is a convenient alternative for expectant parents who cannot attend a conventional prepared childbirth class due to bed rest, scheduling conflicts or time constraints. It is also useful as a refresher course for repeat parents.

Prenatal Seminar

The prenatal seminar is highly recommended for all moms, to help them and their partners feel prepared for childbirth.

Prenatal Duo

The Prenatal Duo class is a condensed version of the four-week Prenatal Class and a breastfeeding class, and is highly recommended for all moms.

4 Week Prenatal Class

The 4-week prenatal class is held one night a week for 4 weeks and is for first-time moms who are planning to have an epidural.  You should arrange to finish the class 3 to 4 weeks before your due date.

This four-week Lamaze class is held one night a week for 4 weeks and is intended for women planning to have an unmedicated birth.  You should arrange to finish the class 3 to 4 weeks before you are due.
