The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) provides patient-focused, specialized care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring for various cardiovascular disorders, including cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure. Patients recovering from myocardial infarction, cardiac and thoracic surgery, coronary intervention, and electrophysiology procedures are also cared for on this unit.

The CPCU is committed to providing the highest level of care using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. Highly trained nurses and patient care assistants work to minimize negative physical and psychological effects of disease processes through patient and family education. Nurses are specially trained in the prompt detection of emergency conditions, and prevention of complications associated with cardiovascular disorders and interventional procedures.

This 32-bed unit, located on the 5th floor at Utah Valley Regional Medical’s East Building, is fully staffed at all times and open to visitors 24 hours a day.
