Three join Board of Trustees

A business owner and two family physicians have recently been named to serve on the Intermountain Healthcare Board of Trustees. Karen W. Fairbanks, Mark K. Milligan, M.D., and Karyn Springer, M.D., were welcomed to their positions recently.

The Intermountain Healthcare Board of Trustees comprises 19 Utah residents who volunteer their time without pay to direct the operations of the nonprofit organization. Board members set policy, provide input, and represent the interests of the community. In addition to Intermountain's central Board, the organization is guided by trustees on governing boards for hospitals and other care services, as well as charitable foundation boards.

Former Intermountain Board members Edward G. Kleyn, former president of Wells Fargo Bank; Daniel W. Davis, M.D., Intermountain Medical Group; Brett T. Muse, M.D., Intermountain South Ogden Clinic; and JoAnn B. Seghini, Ph.D., mayor of Midvale City, recently completely their terms of service. Board members A. Scott Anderson, president and CEO of Zions First National Bank, and Clark D. Ivory, CEO of Ivory Homes, have also announced that they will be stepping down from the Board after six years of service each.

"We are grateful for the exceptional leadership and service given by these outstanding trustees," said Kem Gardner, chairman of Intermountain's Board of Trustees. "We are pleased to welcome Karen Fairbanks, Dr. Milligan, and Dr. Springer to the Board. Our new Board members bring great perspectives and skills. We are thrilled they are willing to serve with us and help guide Intermountain."
