Introducing Karim Anwar, MD

The Southwest Regional Cancer clinic introduces Dr. Karim Anwar, who now practices hematology and oncology at our clinic. In 1993, Dr. Anwar earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical College in the Pakistani city of Lahore, where he also trained in internal medicine at the Mayo Hospital. Immigrating to the United States, Dr. Anwar completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Connecticut in Farmington. He then practiced internal medicine at LandMark Hospital in Woonsocket, Rhode Island for eight years. In 2005, Dr. Anwar joined the Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester. During this time, he studied the risk of relapse in breast cancer patients.

Dr. Anwar is board certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine. He comes to Utah from Lakeland, Florida, where he practiced at the Center for Cancer Care & Research in affiliation with the Moffit Cancer Center.
