New administrator for hospital in Heber Valley

Steve Anderson has been named the new administrator of Heber Valley Medical Center, effective April 11. Anderson has led the hospital in an interim role since January 2011 while serving as chief operating officer of Intermountain's Park City Medical Center. He will continue in both positions.

Anderson joined Park City Medical Center as the chief operating officer in March 2009. Previously he worked for 16 years in several positions with the Hospital Corporation of America. His last position with HCA was CEO of Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. In his tenure, he also served as CEO for Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah; Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital in Newnan, Georgia; Summerville Medical Center in Summerville, South Carolina; and as COO for St. Lucie Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and a Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

"I'm excited to continue working with those at both Heber Valley Medical Center and Park City Medical Center," Anderson said. "Working together we can be more efficient and strategic in meeting the needs of patients in the Wasatch back community. Both hospitals will benefit as we share resources and continue to look for ways to work together." Anderson replaces Ezra Segura, who resigned as Heber Valley Medical Center administrator in December 2010 to pursue other career opportunities.

Heber Valley Medical Center and Park City Medical Center are Intermountain Healthcare facilities. Intermountain Healthcare is a nonprofit health system based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Recognized for its excellent clinical care and low costs, Intermountain serves the healthcare needs of Utah and southeastern Idaho residents.
