The American College of Medical Quality (ACMQ) has named Intermountain Healthcare as the recipient of its 2013 ACMQ Institutional Leadership Quality Award. ACMQ specifically recognized Intermountain's "iconic dedication to quality" through programs such as the Intermountain Healthcare Advanced Training Program and Intermountain's "innovative use of data analytics techniques for quality improvement."
According to ACMQ President Alan Krumholz, MD, the ACMQ Board was "profoundly impressed with the culture of care management operating within Intermountain and the capacity demonstrated for keeping its patient population as healthy as possible."
ACMQ is a national membership organization focused on providing leadership and education in healthcare quality management, and is made up primarily of active physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Previous recipients of the Institutional Leadership Quality Award include the University of Pennsylvania Health System, Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Group, Kaiser Permanente, and HealthPartners.
