Intermountain Names Three to Board of Trustees

Intermountain Healthcare has named Daniel G. Gomez, Gordon W. Harkness, MD, and Bradford R. Rich to serve on its Board of Trustees. The trio was welcomed to their positions recently and represents a variety of experience such as a business owner, a family physician, and the president of an airlines company.  


Intermountain's Board of Trustees is comprised of 20 individuals who volunteer their time without pay to direct the nonprofit organization. Board members set policy, create goals, evaluate management's performance, and ensure Intermountain operates in the best interest of the community. In addition to the trustees who serve on Intermountain's central Board, trustees also serve on governing boards for hospitals and other care services, as well as on charitable foundation boards.

Daniel G. Gomez, president of Gomez Corp. Financial Advisors & Insurance, has 22 years of experience in the financial services industry, preceded by 18 years in the telecommunications industry. He has served on the SelectHealth board since 2007 and the Intermountain Community Care Foundation board since 2011. He is also Chairman of the Champions for Children Charity Golf Tournament, benefitting the Utah Council for Crime Prevention.

Gordon W. Harkness, MD, is a family physician at the Intermountain North Canyon Clinic, which is part of the Intermountain Medical Group. He is the medical director of the Utah Valley region of the Medical Group and a member of the Medical Group board. He received a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Brigham Young University, his medical degree from the University of Utah, and family medicine residency training in South Bend, Indiana.

Bradford R. Rich is president of SkyWest, Inc., which includes SkyWest Airlines, Inc., ExpressJet Airlines, Inc., and SkyWest Leasing. Previously, he was the chief financial officer from 1991 to 2011. Rich received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Utah State University. He has served on the SelectHealth board, is a director of the annual Dixie Classic Golf Tournament, and has served on the City of St. George Water and Power Board.
