TOSH is Honored for Delivering High-quality Care for a Record Eighth Consecutive Year

“This is a great honor for TOSH and it reflects the commitment of our entire team to providing the very best care possible to our patients year in and year out,” says TOSH Administrator Barbara Ohm. “Being recognized for eight consecutive years is quite remarkable.”

The HealthInsight Quality Award recognizes hospitals for high performance in quality care measures and patient satisfaction.

Ten Utah hospitals received the award in 2015, including six Intermountain facilities: TOSH, Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton, McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Park City Medical Center, Riverton Hospital, and Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City.

HealthInsight Quality Award recipients are selected for delivering high-quality healthcare and for excellence in measures related to quality of care as publicly reported in Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services data and in patients’ perception of care. Patient involvement in care continues to be a focus nationally, so for the fifth year in a row, the award measures patient perspectives of their hospital care.

Research has shown that high performance on patients’ hospital experiences goes hand-in-hand with excellent clinical care.

“We’re pleased to recognize these outstanding hospitals that continue to improve their quality of care year after year,” says Juliana Preston of HealthInsight Utah. “Continuing to include patients’ perception of care in the award criteria allows us to reward a more complete picture of quality healthcare at large and small hospitals throughout the state.”

For a record eighth consecutive year, TOSH – The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital has received the HealthInsight Quality Award for clinical excellence. TOSH is the first Utah hospital to earn the annual award for eight straight years.
