  • Once you receive a text or email from Intermountain with your visit ID, go to your designated testing location. An arrival window is not needed.

Do I need a COVID-19 test?

If you would like to be tested for COVID-19, see if you qualify for a test by using the symptom checker. If you qualify, you will be directed to reserve an arrival window online at an Intermountain community testing location.

If you are symptomatic, you should stay home and self-isolate. If you have other health concerns and are also concerned about COVID, contact your provider. If you are having difficulty breathing, blue color around your lips or mouth, or are very weak and unable to stand, this is a medical emergency. Call 911 or have someone take you to the nearest emergency room immediately.

What do I need to do if I have an upcoming procedure with Intermountain Healthcare?

My doctor already ordered me a test for me. Do I need an appointment arrival time?

You do not need to use the symptom checker. Once you receive a text or email from Intermountain with your visit ID, go to your designated testing location. Before you arrive at your selected curbside location, please be ready to show a caregiver your confirmation and QR code.

Paper orders or images of orders are not accepted at testing locations.

My doctor ordered a test, but I haven’t received a text message or email confirmation yet. What should I do?

Your confirmation message may take a couple of hours to arrive. If you haven’t received the confirmation after 3 hours, please proceed to a community testing site and inform the staff that your order was placed by your provider and that you did not receive a confirmation email, or call the COVID hotline at 844-442-5224. Due to high call volumes you will experience extended wait times.

Can I get tested by Intermountain if I was contacted by the health department and given a reference number?

Yes and you will need to use the online symptom checker to reserve an arrival window. Please proceed to your nearest testing site after you receive your confirmation email with your arrival window time, date, and location.

What do I do if I cannot find an open time slot?

If you are unable to find a date/time that works best for you at an Intermountain testing site, you can find additional testing providers in Utah here or Idaho here. If you have symptoms, please self-isolate to protect others from contracting COVID-19.
