Members of Intermountain Healthcare Team Deployed to New York City to Assist With COVID-19 Care to Share Experiences at Homecoming Press Briefing

WHAT:

They spent two weeks helping exhausted and overwhelmed fellow caregivers in hospitals throughout New York City caring for COVID-19 patients as the coronavirus pandemic took its toll on the hardest hit city in the nation.

Now, 100 Intermountain Healthcare caregivers from throughout the state of Utah who were deployed to New York City to assist clinicians there have returned home. Their fellow caregivers at hospitals in the Northwell Health and New York-Presbyterian health systems call them heroes. They say they were just doing the right thing – helping fellow caregivers in need.

A handful of deployed Intermountain team members will share their experiences and perspectives of serving in New York during this unprecedented time at a homecoming press briefing today. They say, if given the opportunity, they’d do it again.

WHEN:

11:45 am, Wednesday, May 6, 2020

WHERE:

Intermountain Transformation Center

5026 South State Street, Murray, UT 84107

(Press briefing will be held outside in courtyard. Social distancing practices will be observed. Masks will be provided.)
