Intermountain Healthcare Physicians to Hold COVID-19 Community Update on Wednesday as Thanksgiving Holiday Looms as a Potential Super Spreader Event

WHAT:
Intermountain Healthcare physicians will hold a COVID-19 community update/press briefing on Wednesday ¬– one day ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, which Utah’s medical community is very concerned could turn into a major super spreader event if people don’t adhere to recommendations to mask up and gather only with those living in their household. 
 
Intermountain physicians will discuss the potential impact of a super spreader event on Utah’s health systems, which are being overwhelmed by rising COVID cases and hospitalizations, and their ability to provide care to ALL those needing hospital care, whether they’re COVID positive or not. They will also provide an update on current health resources. 
 
Intermountain behavioral health experts will address the increase of depression, anxiety, and stress associated with the ongoing pandemic, strategies for those experiencing these symptoms, and available mental health resources in Utah.
