Karim Kaissi Joins Intermountain Healthcare in Nevada as Medical Group President

Karim Kaissi has joined Intermountain Healthcare in Nevada, filling the role of Nevada Medical Group President. Kaissi comes to Intermountain after serving as president of the eastern U.S. region for CareMore and Aspire Health, an Anthem Inc. subsidiary.

“We are elated to have Karim join Intermountain in Nevada,” said Paul Krakovitz, MD, interim president of the Nevada region. “Karim’s background and expertise are a perfect fit to our organization, and will help Intermountain continue to expand our population health model and augment it with our care delivery services. He understands our value-based care model and is ready to help us deliver on our commitment to providing quality healthcare services in southern Nevada,” Krakovitz said.

In his prior role, Kaissi successfully led a region of 30 states serving Medicare, Medicaid and commercial patients in value-based arrangements. He recently relocated to southern Nevada with his family from San Antonio, Texas before joining Intermountain. Karim is an active Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and regularly participates in local panels, speaking engagements, and mentoring programs.

“I’m truly excited for the opportunity to create new and expanded ways to extend the mission of Intermountain Healthcare in the Las Vegas, Boulder City, Pahrump, and Mesquite communities,” Kaissi said. “I look forward to building on the outstanding and holistic care this team already delivers to our patients whether in the clinic, at home, or through our telehealth services. As Nevada reopens and recovers from the pandemic, Intermountain will continue to be a strong partner in the community by helping people live the healthiest lives possible.”

Intermountain is nearing its two-year anniversary of the acquisition of HealthCare Partners Nevada, which occurred in late June of 2019. Since that time, Intermountain has brought in a range of specialty healthcare services highly needed in southern Nevada, including pediatric neurosurgery, and liver transplant and advanced disease clinic, a bone marrow transplant clinic. Also, additional myGeneration Senior Clinics have opened in new parts of Las Vegas, providing more convenient locations for seniors to visit their primary care providers closer to home. Intermountain Healthcare is also the official healthcare sponsor of the Las Vegas Raiders.
