Gastroenterology

Food Allergy Eosinophilic Gastro

The Pediatric FED Clinic is where you will meet pediatric gastroenterologists with special focus on eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders (including eosinophilic esophagitis, eosinophilic gastroenteritis and/or eosinophilic colitis). This clinic sees children who have been previously diagnosed with an eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorder, via an endoscopy or colonoscopy with biopsy.

  • Our team will work with you and your primary care provider to:
  • Clearly outline treatment options, tailored based on your child’s type of disease and symptoms, Including medication and diet options
  • Ensure adequate, balanced nutrient and vitamin intake,
  • Address atypical feeding patterns often associated with eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders and strive for high quality of life,
  • Review of prior and recent gastrointestinal biopsies by an expert in eosinophilic gastrointestinal disease.
  • Most importantly, we want to be able to provide sustained follow-up on your child’s response to treatment. We offer weekly clinics where we systematically track nutrition, disease-related symptoms and quality of life metrics. We have an experienced nurse coordinator who can assess changes in symptoms over time which may suggest a disease flare.

We also offer endoscopy services in our same day procedure center, featuring traditional endoscopy and colonoscopy as well as advanced techniques such as EndoFLIP (endoscopic esophageal pressure measurement) and unsedated, transnasal endoscopy.
