Mindful Living Class

An ongoing weekly 60 minute class which offers a chance for participants to discuss how they are doing with their ongoing mindfulness/meditation practice, give and receive support from others related to mindfulness practice and engage in a weekly meditation (20-25 minutes) to support and strengthen mindfulness practice.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

This is the full mindfulness training program developed by Jon Kabat Zinn at the University of Massachusetts. MBSR is the most highly researched, evidence-based method for learning mindfulness skills and is considered the “Gold Standard” in mindfulness training. It has been repeatedly shown in hundreds of studies conducted over the past 4 decades to provide benefits for a wide range of physical and emotional conditions as well as enhancing overall wellness.

Learning to Breathe for Teen Boys

Learning to Breathe is a mindfulness-based curriculum for adolescents 12-18 years of age. Students are taught breathing exercises to assist with strengthening attention and emotion regulation, cultivate wholesome emotions like gratitude and compassion, and expand stress management skills.

This is also a great introduction to mindfulness and how to integrate it into daily life. Each lesson includes age-appropriate discussion, activities, and opportunities to practice mindfulness in a group setting. Available only in Ogden.

Mindfulness in Medicine

Mindful Practice® programs were created by the University of Rochester Medical School to help advance the quality of health care, improve provider relationships with patients and colleagues, and enhance self-awareness, wellness, and resilience of health professionals. Participants have shown improvements in burnout scores, presence, attentiveness, and curiosity, allowing for greater awareness and insight into their work.

Guided Meditations

MBSR graduates are welcome to join weekly MBSR meditations on Tuesdays from 5:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the McKay North Campus Medical Building, 3903 Harrison Blvd. 4th Floor. These meditation sessions are led by Valerie Bentley and other local mindfulness/meditation teachers and are free of charge.
