If you have questions about a financial issue, speaking with an expert can help. The Intermountain Employee Assistance Program provides you with access to professionals who provide free consultations on everything from credit and debt, to purchasing a home, or saving for retirement.

How It Works

1. Call our intake hotline between 6:00 am and 3:00 pm MST at 1-800-832-7733 and tell the agent you’d like to access Financial Assist.
2. Our agent will connect you with a financial assistance consultant who may be able to help resolve the issue or provide the needed resources. If not…
3. The financial consultant will schedule an appointment with a qualified financial counselor. You may receive information to review or worksheets to complete before your session.
4. On the day of the appointment the counselor will call the employee to begin the session.
5. Following the appointment, the counselor will follow up with a summary, goals and/or any other applicable information.

If your life, or the life of a family member has been impacted by a legal issue, you may need the expert counsel of an attorney. The Intermountain Employee Assistance Program can help connect you with a participating attorney for a free consultation either on the phone or in person.

Intermountain EAP Legal Assist offers access to participating attorneys who can provide telephonic or in-person consultations to address employees’ legal needs.

Advice: Many employees requiring legal assistance do not want or need to retain a lawyer. Their concerns can be resolved through a free telephonic consultation. In these situations, we can connect employees to a participating attorney for a consultation.

Local Attorney: For those who have a need for in-person legal consultation, we connect the employee to a conveniently located lawyer with the appropriate expertise. These local lawyers provide a free half-hour consultation, and, in most instances, agree to discount their hourly fees by 25% if additional assistance is required.

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

Intermountain Healthcare's Employee Assistance Program follows federal (HIPAA) and state laws that require strict confidentiality of all client records. Records are released only when there is a written client request, by court order or by a licensing agency (i.e. DOPL). The law mandates that in cases of child abuse, elder abuse, or when a person may be a threat to his, hers, or someone else's safety, the counselor must notify the proper authorities.

All records are maintained in a secure, electronic case documentation system, separate from all other Intermountain records. The computer database of client information is accessible only to employees of Intermountain Employee Assistance Program. Utilization reports are provided to employers that contain aggregate data for the company. No report contains information that could identify an individual client.
