Crisis Services are available for employees and family members by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Supervisors and human resources are encouraged to use this service when urgent situations arise. Be sure to identify yourself as a supervisor.
Grief and Loss
Serious illness or death affecting an employee are challenging situations. The EAP can provide coaching to supervisors on how to support teams and individuals and can provide valuable, timely written materials including the Intermountain Bereavement Packet and Grief & Loss: A Supervisor Guide. The EAP can facilitate team meetings if requested.
When an unexpected trauma occurs in the workplace, counselors provide a service called Adverse Event Support Services. Adverse events are situations that cause severe stress to employees and may affect work productivity. Examples of adverse events include workplace accidents or severe life-threatening events. For Intermountain caregivers, it may include patient care events. If an event occurs, call the EAP and a counselor will provide support and coordinate invertentions.
