Dr. Jeffrey L. Anderson, MD, currently is Distinguished Clinical and Research Physician and is immediate past Director of Cardiovascular Research at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute. He also is tenured Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he is past Chief of Cardiology. He is past Director of Coronary Care and Chief of Cardiology, LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah. He is a fellow of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, and Heart Rhythm Society, and is a Master of the American College of Physicians. He served as a recent past Chair, Task Force on Practice Guidelines, for the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology. He is Past President of the Western States Affiliate of the American Heart Association. He has served as a member and chair of the FDAs Cardiorenal Advisory Committee. He has a broad interest in cardiovascular diseases and prevention, and with his colleagues he has published over 700 peer-reviewed and invited articles and book chapters and over 600 abstracts presented at national and international meetings. His current interests include cardiovascular genetics, pharmacogenetics, metabolomics, and other cardiovascular risk factors, and clinical intervention trials to reduce and prevent cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease and atrial fibrillation. He enjoys seeing and caring for patients, performing innovative clinical research.
